Bio:

Starting with a barbed-wire fence and a herd of cattle in 1975, our mission has been to develop the land into a productive, diversified farm providing the wider community with organically-grown produce and a venue for celebrating special events. We farm with all clean, quiet, sustainable solar electric tractors designed and built right here on the farm!

Notes:

  • Lone Hawk Farm is a neighborhood country garden where you can buy freshly harvested organic vegetables and flowers, or pick your own from the fields. We grow a wide variety of vegetables. Availability changes throughout the growing season but there's always an array of fresh veggies. There are also garden-fed organic chicken eggs for sale, and cold bottled water is available. We operate on the honor system. Prices are posted on the blackboard, and there's a little red box for payment. Our gardening equipment is all battery powered and is recharged from solar panels and a wind generator, assuring a clean, quiet growing environment. You are welcome to come out and visit the organic gardens any time during the day. Bring a lunch and sit on the barn balcony where you can relax and enjoy the lovely country views.
  • In the summer we open the farm for weddings, rehearsal dinners, committment ceremonies, company parties, workshops, benefits and other special events. The gazebo is a beautiful site for an outdoor wedding ceremony. The large barn can accommodate up to 150 guests. Adjacent lawns provide ample room to entertain outdoors. There’s a good view of the front range and surrounding countryside from the deck. The farm is an especially wonderful setting for an elegant, serene wedding in an open-air environment.
  • We offer farm dinners! Check our website for location and reservation information!
  • Lone Hawk Farm offers pasture boarding that allows the horses to live in small herds with plenty of room to run. The horses are out on grass all summer and fed with our organically-grown hay twice daily during the leaner months. There’s running water in the creek all year long, and shelter in the barn. Runs with shelter are available for those times when a horse needs to be isolated or protected. An outdoor arena, roundpen, and miles of trails are available on the farm. With reasonable rates and a laid-back family atmosphere, Lone Hawk Farm is ideal for retired horses or the casual rider.
