Woodward Hi-Altitude cattle operates off the Deer Valley Park Association, a ranch which has been in our family since 1888. The Deer Valley Park Association has also been recognized by the State of Colorado as a Centennial Farm, "a ranch which has been in the same family for over 100 years". We raise and sell all natural beef. Our steers run on native mountain pastures all summer with no supplements. We offer two options for our beef. Grass finished beef, where the steers are taken directly off pasture in October each year and processed. Or our grass fed, and grain finished beef, where the steers are fed our custom grain mix for approximately 90 days prior to processing. We guarantee every animal processed is under the age of 24 months, every animal is born and raised on our ranch, absolutely no growth hormones or steroids, we deliver the steers free of charge to the processor, and all our cattle are pasture raised and provided a stress free environment. What you get is healthy, nutritious, delicious, wholesome, natural beef. Cut and wrapped the way you want it. We currently charge $4 per pound based on the hanging weight of the animal. The hanging weight is approximately 57% of the live weight. So from a 1100 pound steer you would have a hanging weight of approximately 630 pounds. From that you would take home approximately 420 pounds of packaged meat. Processing costs are additional.
